| Read the Red
is a ministry created to support and encourage Christians who are
being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.
Starting with a small church in Northern California, the idea came
to make wristbands that would raise financial gifts and public awareness
for the “suffering church” and at the same time encourage
all of us to “remember them that are in bonds” (Hebrews
13:3).
Each message to the seven churches listed in Revelation chapters
two and three have a promise for those who “overcome”.
Many of the churches to whom the letters were written suffered fierce
persecution under most of the Roman Caesars and were put to death
by the hundreds of thousands.
Likewise, in our day, we are seeing Christians suffer and die for
their faith at an unparalleled rate threatening to overshadow the
persecutions of ancient Rome. This is why the message to the “suffering
church” continues to be: OVERCOME.
The wristbands offer a visual and practical commitment to remember
the persecuted, pray for them and support the suffering saints that
we all may “overcome”. The red color reminds us that
when the church is persecuted it grows and that the “blood
of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” It also reminds
us that the saints will “overcome” by the “blood
of the Lamb.”
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,
and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives
unto death.”
Revelation 12:11
Proceeds raised from the “overcome” wristbands will
be sent to help organizations that are working with the “faithful”
all over the world who are persecuted and suffering for their faith.
All for the Lamb!
